The cleaning and maintenance of finished roller blinds needs to be tailored to their type and material. The core principles are "regular dusting + proper cleaning + avoiding hard damage." Incorrect operation can easily lead to deformation, jamming, or motor damage.
1. Daily Dusting: High-frequency basic maintenance to prevent dirt buildup.
Once a week, use a feather duster or soft brush to lightly sweep away surface dust, especially suitable for sheer blinds, roller blinds, and other styles that are not easily removable.
If there is a lot of dust, it is recommended to use a vacuum cleaner with a narrow nozzle on a low setting to clean, avoiding dust spreading indoors.
Electric roller blinds must be cleaned after the power is turned off. Do not allow water or cleaning agents to seep into the motor area.
2. Cleaning methods for different materials: Targeted treatment to protect the fabric.
Ordinary roller blinds (PVC/polyester): Wipe with a sponge soaked in neutral detergent, then wipe clean with water and air dry. Do not expose to direct sunlight.
Blackout/Silver-Coated Roller Blinds: Avoid soaking. Wipe gently with a damp cloth containing a small amount of alcohol or a specialized cleaning solution to prevent coating peeling.
Shangri-La Blinds/Dream Blinds: Can be removed individually. Rinse with cold water or a neutral detergent, then air dry. Do not use a hard brush.
Motor/Spring Roller Blinds: Self-cleaning is not recommended as the complex structure is easily damaged. Contact a professional cleaning service.
3. Track and Roller Maintenance: Key to Resolving Jams
Check the tracks monthly for dust accumulation or obstructions. Use an old toothbrush dipped in neutral cleaning solution to gently brush the tracks.
For the rollers, use a cotton swab dipped in anhydrous alcohol to wipe the axle. After removing putty, apply a drop of silicone-based lubricant to improve smoothness.
Avoid using machine oil or grease, as they easily attract dust and cause secondary blockages.
